Introduction letters to Afghan children who lack documents for school enrolment have been issued by the Interior Ministry’s Bureau of Aliens and Foreign Immigrants Affairs Office.

They can enroll in schools in the place of their residence (also mentioned in the letter) from the new school year (starts Sept. 23), the Persian language newspaper ‘Iran’ reported.

Currently, there are 360,000 foreign students in the country among whom 330,000 are Afghans, said Khalilollah Babalu, deputy minister of education for international affairs.

“This year we have instructed that even children of illegal immigrants be allowed to enroll in schools,” he added.
