Military Exemptions

The law regarding military service has been amended to exempt men with a disabled child from the compulsory service. “Those who have at least one child with a type of disability under the coverage of the State Welfare Organization are exempted from the service,” said Col. Ebrahim Karimi, deputy border police commander. In addition, conscripts with physically challenged spouses will be exempted from the service temporarily, which will be made permanent after five years of married life, reports Mehr News Agency.
