Residents of border regions will be granted interest-free loans to cover 90% of production costs of cooperative ventures, said Seyyed Abolfazl Razavi, deputy vice-president for Rural and Deprived Areas Development. “Villagers in the border areas who contribute 10% in community projects can apply for the loans,” he said, ISNA reported. He added that farmers need to be provided with more facilities in the next five-year development plan (2016-20) given that they are a powerful segment of production and a pillar of the resistance economy – proposed by the Leader, Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei to boost domestic economy and reduce reliance on oil revenue.
