Nomad women of Lar plains in north of Tehran Province will be provided with $30.7 million (one trillion rials) in financial aid for the first time to encourage their industrial endeavors, said Tehran Governor Hossein Hashemi.
“The Tehran Council for Nomads is supporting nomads who contribute significantly to the production cycle,” he was quoted by ISNA as saying.
Additionally, based on a bill ratified by the council, nomads can henceforth sell their dairy and agricultural produce to consumers directly. Intermediaries will be removed. A committee has been established to issue certificates to nomadic tribes with information on their place of residence and number of households and livestock, to facilitate better management of nomadic affairs.
