The State Welfare Organization and the Drug Control Headquarters will set up exclusive drug rehabilitation centers for teens in various provinces “in accordance with the addiction status of each region,” said Mohsen Roshanpajouh, deputy head of SWO’s Addiction Prevention and Treatment Department.
“Such centers were piloted in Sistan-Baluchestan Province last year (ended March 20) due to its susceptibility to drugs, in cooperation with the provincial coordination council and Iran University of Medical Sciences,” Mehr News Agency quoted him as saying.
All the provinces are categorized into three groups of ‘high-prevalence’, ‘medium-prevalence’ and ‘low-prevalence’ and the project will be implemented accordingly.
Under the classification, Lorestan and Qazvin provinces are low and Kerman and Khuzestan, high prevalence regions.
