After Sunday’s heavy rain and floods, temperatures dropped significantly in Taleqan in Alborz Province and the Shah Alborz heights were covered in snow at the end of the first month of summer, said Mostafa Farahani, Taleqan governor.
The sharp drop in temperatures in the county caused problems to the nomadic population. The Iranian Red Crescent Society (IRCS) provided them with heating appliances and food, Alef news agency reported.
The storm has left a trail of damage to farms, gardens, bridges and roads in the region. Six people were killed, including four women, and more than 30 injured in Alborz Province. Twelve people are still missing.
