The Food and Drug Administration is planning to establish pharmaceutical care units in some large hospitals across the country, says Rasoul Dinarvand, head of the FDA.

“It will not do for a 200-300 bed hospital to operate without a pharmacist and be dependent on external suppliers for their required medication,” he said, ILNA reported.

Noting that the immense potential of pharmacists in the country has not been fully harnessed, Dinarvand stressed that pharmaceutical care in medical centers will enhance the quality of service delivered under the healthcare system as well as create job opportunities for thousands of pharmacists.
