The number of youth NGOs in the country is set to increase to 5,000 by March 20, 2018, said Reza Hojjati, a senior official at the Ministry of Sports and Youth Affairs. “According to the plan, there will be one NGO for every 5,000 youngsters,” he said, ISNA reported. The ministry will also make efforts to empower, educate and train the younger generation in several areas to help them with social responsibilities and development. “Currently, most NGOs are focused on cultural-religious areas, but there is a pressing need for more non-governmental organizations in 40 other fields.”
