The unveiling soon of a new domestically produced drug that can reduce deaths from heart diseases by 50%, was announced by Reza Malekzade, deputy health minister for research and technology, at the first meeting of the National Committee for Prevention of Non-communicable Diseases held on Tuesday, in Tehran. The new medicine ‘Polypid’, contains aspirin and has anti-hyperlipidemic and anti-hypertensive properties, ISNA quoted him as saying.
