Tehran subway will be free on Eid al-Fitr (Sugar Feast) that marks the end of Ramadan, to facilitate people to commute to and from the prayer grounds on the day.
“All subway stations in Tehran will offer free services from 5:30 am till the end of the Eid prayers,” said Mohsen Nayebi, Head of Tehran Urban and Suburban Railway Operation Company, Donyayekhodro website reported.
The day is an important religious holiday celebrated by Muslims worldwide to mark the end of the Islamic holy month of fasting.
The subway trains will arrive every 4.5 minutes to accelerate passenger traffic.
