A bill to set up a strategic studies institute for medical education in the country was ratified at the Medical Sciences Universities Development Council, said Bagher Larijani, education deputy at the Ministry of Health and Medical Education. "By establishing the institute, the ministry seeks to create a high-ranking organization and to delegate duties to help build up proficiency of educational bodies in areas of leadership, management, support, and development of medical education across the country," he was quoted by ILNA as saying. Larijani added that the ministry must perform as a supervising authority rather than "taking on all executive matters."
