Avian influenza detected in Mazandran Province recently has spread to Damavand and Firoozkooh cities in Tehran Province, said Mohammad Yusefi, head of the Poultry Breeders Association.
All the infected birds were domesticated fowls and necessary measures have been taken to prevent further spread of the disease, ISNA quoted him as saying.
He clarified that the reduction in poultry prices in the month of Ramadan is not related to the disease. It is due to the decrease in demand and will continue till October.
