Nearly 192 smuggling cartels were demolished and several arrests made in the first three months of the current Iranian year (March 21-June21), said General Mohammad-Reza Moghimi, head of the law enforcement forces. “Strengthening and expanding intelligence operations, combating smuggling of banned or countercultural products as well as trafficking in border regions, cooperation and convergence with associated organizations and empowering executive bodies, are among the key strategies of the police force,” he said, quoted by IRNA. The cartels were identified during 14 operations across the country.
