The rate of cancer in Iran is lower than in other nations, deputy health minister Reza Malekzadeh said.
He also said claims that cancer rate is increasing in the country are untrue, IRNA reported.
“Cancer is a dangerous disease and its financial costs are very high, therefore, some basic measures for its prevention must be taken,” Malekzadeh stressed.
With the help of specialists and researchers, the Health Ministry has adopted key measures to fight the disease, he added.
“Given that aspirin, statins and monoamine are drugs that help prevent cancer, people aged 50 and above must be persuaded to take the medicines to help check the disease.”
He also said nutrition patterns and the mechanical lifestyle of the people should change for better social health.
