There are 7,000 international students in the country, of whom 3,000 are on full scholarships. The Fifth Five-Year Economic Development Plan (started 2011), stipulates that 3,000 self-financing students and 2,000 students with scholarships have to be accepted every year,” said Rezaalihasan Vandian, deputy at the Department of Foreign Students Affairs, Ministry of Science, reported ISNA. Admissions to top Tehran universities are now open to international students. They include the University of Tehran, Shahid Beheshti, Allame Tabataba’i and Amir Kabir universities, Sharif University of Technology and the Tehran University of Art. He also said other universities can commence international admissions.
