Activists and contributors to knowledge-based companies will be exempted from mandatory military service, announced Vice President for Science and Technology Sorena Sattari.
“Facilities will be provided to support knowledge-based companies that include low-interest loans and exemption from tax and customs,” he was quoted by IRNA as saying while addressing officials of the Medical University of Ilam Province, on Saturday. Noting that research “is at the mercy of private sector support”, Sattari said “it promotes economic development and boosts income.
He also said the technology headquarters had been set up at the Presidential Office of Science and Technology and all provinces must cooperate and be informed of the latest research activities.
