Phasing out tons of paperwork and reducing visits by people to the State Organization for Registration of Deeds and Properties has been achieved thanks to e-governance.

Registration of property deeds is being done electronically and the plan for digitization of fingerprints is on the agenda, said Ahmad Tooyserkani, head of SORDP.

The plan was officially launched in Zanjan Province and all provincial notary public have been directed to initiate the program, IRNA reported.

Tooyserkani pointed to e-governance in various sections of the SORDP, namely notary public offices and the Company Registration General Office. “Creating an electronic archive of registered documents is one of the major plans currently underway.”

“Due to the problems in issuing permits and providing fingerprint scanners, it will take some time to implement the plan extensively,” Tooyserkani said. The registration of personal identity information will commence by the second half of the current Iranian year (started March 21).

The goal of e-registration is to complete the database of the electronic registration system in validation of official deeds and contracts.

Pointing to the recent cases of forgery and impersonation, he said registering personal information and identity will prevent such fraud.

Identity information is registered online at the State Organization for Registration of Deeds and Properties.
