Centers to support working children will be set up in 18 provinces, said Valiollah Nasr, director general of State Welfare Organization (SWO) for social vulnerabilities.
“Till last year, 11 provinces including Tehran, Alborz, Chaharmahal and Bakhtiari, Hamedan, and Khuzestan established such centers. The project is set to expand this year,” he said, according to the Persian-language ‘Iran’ newspaper.
So far 6,000 working children have been identified to go under coverage. After the project is complete, 24 daily centers will be operating to provide food, shelter and clothes to the children.
