Dilapidated taxis will not be allowed to enter Tehran’s Traffic Zones as of December this year as per the bill ratified by the city council, said Isa Mohammadpour, an official at the Tehran Taxi Organization. “The refurbishment of the taxi fleet in the country has come to a halt and many taxi drivers will be put out of work once the bill comes into effect,” said Mohammadpour, Transport Industry News Network (tinn.ir) reported. The TTO is pursuing the matter to remove obstacles to the taxi renovation project.
