The deputy to the minister of education said teachers should have a syndicate so that they could “oversee their own work.” Mohyeddin Bahram Mohammadian told ISNA that the need for a teachers’ union “is felt to appraise and rank their work among themselves.” He emphasized the role of teachers as cultural and educational representatives “who need to interact more with each other.”
