Several residential buildings have been damaged due to the deep excavations undertaken for the construction of the 57-story Tehran Pasargad Hotel in Elahieh neighborhood, said Mohammad Mahdi Tondguyan, spokesman for the High Commission for Analyzing Architecture and Urban Plans of the Tehran City Council. Although the hotel has a legal construction permit, the owners are required to pay compensation for the damages to adjacent buildings, he said.  The hotel is under construction in a narrow street, only 8 meters wide. It will be Tehran’s second largest tower, after Milad Tower, Khabaronline reported.
