The head of sports affairs of the Armed Forces said the winners of gold medals at Asian Games in Incheon, South Korea, will be exempted from military service. Brigadier General Mehr Ali Baran told ISNA that the waiver includes for both individual and team events. Another exemption is in store for one male child of Paralympics gold winners, he said. Iranian athletes won 21 gold medals at the Asian Games, held from September 19 till October 4.
