Iran’s top position in the field of kidney transplant in the Middle East was acknowledged by Head of the 1st International Nephrology and Urology Congress Dr. Behzad Einollahi. “There are now 25,000 patients on dialyses treatment and Iranian surgeons have transplanted over 35,000 kidneys so far,” IRNA quoted him as saying. Iran is even far ahead of Turkey, which ranks first in scientific progress in the region. The congress will be held in Tehran from June 10 to 12 in the presence of dozens of top Iranian and foreign specialists from Spain, Belgium, Britain, Greece, the Czech Republic, and France.
