Residents of Tehran can be confident in the safety of their drinking water, since this year it is largely supplied from dams, and supply from underground water sources is significantly lower, said Mohammad Ali Shaeri, head of Tehran Municipality’s Environment and Sustainable Development Headquarters.
Currently, the volume of water in the main dams supplying the capital’s drinking water, including Taleghan, Lar, Latian and Mamlou, has reached 660 million cubic meters, indicating a 25% increase over the previous year, Iran newspaper reported.
