Establishing a centralized bank for cryopreservation (embryo, egg and sperm freezing and donation) can help infertile couples, who number 3 million in Iran, and eliminate illegal intermediaries, said Hamid Choubineh, head of the Infertility Treatment Center at the Red Crescent Medicine and Treatment Complex. "A cryopreservation/donation bank will help cater to all infertility research and treatment centers in the country," IRNA quoted him as saying. Choubineh said setting up such a center "will require ethical assessment by jurists and specialists."
