The conscription period for young inventors will be reduced, said police chief, Brigadier General Hossein Ashtari, on the sidelines of the 7th National Festival of Young Soldiers in Tehran. “Harnessing the creativity of young soldiers and using it in a timely manner will result in national development,” he said, ILNA reported. Creators of original works will be exempted from military service if they are applicable on a national level; however, others will still be considered draftees but receive “incentives” including a lesser period of service.
