There are 70,000 general practitioners in Iran, a sufficient number to meet the demands of national healthcare, said Dr. Abbas Kamyabi, a member of the General Practitioner’s Organization.  Calling for uniform planning in healthcare, at the organization’s 5th conference, Kamyabi emphasized the need to implement the Family Doctor scheme and the referral system as part of the Health Reforms Plan launched in May 2014, reports IRNA.
