All infants will be screened for hearing in the current year by the State Welfare Organization (SWO), said SWO head Anoushirvan Mohseni Bandpey. In the previous year (ended March 20), 67% of infants were screened by the SWO, preventing total deafness in 2,200 infants, reports IRNA. Genetic consultation services for couples are provided by the SWO, in line with the objective of preventing genetic disorders.
