A two-day seminar on “Emergency War Surgery” to share knowledge and experience on providing medical care “in the event of an unforeseen incident” is underway at the Iranian Red Crescent Society (IRCS), said IRCS senior official Dr. Afshin Alikhani.

The non-military ‘war surgery’ is an approach by the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRS) to address unforeseen disasters. The educational program together with Health Equipment Loan Program (HELP) - will be held in cooperation with the International Red Cross Movement, he said, quoted by MNA.

“The programs are crucial in providing medical support during contingencies, since a large part of the country is vulnerable due to its geographic location and climate.”
