Domestic production lines for three medical products for patients with liver diseases have been set up by the Iranian Red Crescent Society’s medical equipment company.
Sorena Sattari, vice-president for science and technology, said they include a nano-mask manufacturing line, domestic production line for sevelamer - a phosphate binding drug to treat hyperphosphatemia in patients with chronic kidney disease - and hollow fiber pieces which facilitate drug absorption in persons with liver diseases, ISNA reported. Nano masks prevent the absorbtion of 90% of dust and haze into the respiratory system, and the domestic product is 90% cheaper than the imported one,” said Rasoul Dinarvand, deputy health minister.
