IRCS Workshops

The Iranian Red Crescent Society (IRCS) will hold educative workshops on addiction prevention in all provinces, said Amir Motamedi, deputy for education and research at the IRCS Youth Organization.

The workshops will focus on self-control and problem-solving techniques for the youth since they are the main target groups, and “we have invested our resources accordingly,” he said, IRNA reported.

Teaching life skills to youngsters will help prevent and reduce social harms, he said. “The plan came into force in early 2014 by holding workshops in three provinces. It was later extended to nine provinces.”

One participant will be selected from each workshop to take part in the international conference to be held in Tehran in 2016 where participating nations will share their knowledge and experience on addiction prevention. Cooperation with Italian Red Cross and UNICEF has been initiated.
