Nine aftershocks followed a magnitude 4.3 earthquake recorded at Khorramabad, Lorestan Province at 10:34 pm on Thursday, Alef News Agency reported. The latest aftershock measuring 2.9 on the Richter scale rattled the city on Friday, 00.38 am, said Reza Aryaei, director general of the provincial disaster management center. There were no reports of fatalities. Several rescue helicopters are on high alert for the next 48 hours to deal with any eventuality. The province is located on the notorious Zagros Fault, a major seismic zone in the country.
