Websites Under Scrutiny

Websites that allow downloading of illegal, contraband, or immodest audiovisual content will face legal action by the police force with immediate effect, said Tehran Police Chief Commander Hossein Sajedinia. “Websites that facilitate piracy of national cultural products (movies and music) will also be identified and penalized in cooperation with the Cyberspace Police, and Intelligence and Public Security Police,” he said, quoted by ISNA. Stressing that austere measures will be taken to support domestic producers and prevent the spread of western culture, Sajedinia urged for public cooperation on the issue.
