The IELTS exams in Iran as of April 5, 2015 are not valid for obtaining United Kingdom visas, announced the British Council (the United Kingdom’s international organization for cultural relations and educational opportunities). “Only those exams that are taken at centers trusted by and under the auspices of the council are creditable to obtain UK visas,” says the council’s website, IRNA reported. However, as the British embassy and consulates are closed in the country, the closest official centers to take the exam are located in the United Arab Emirates and Turkey.
