The governor of Tehran has promised a 10% hike in the capital’s infrastructure funding under its annual budget. Tehran’s yearly budget has not been sanctioned so far, as the provincial Planning Committee has not yet scheduled a meeting this calendar year (started March 21) for the annual budget planning, ISNA reports. Isa Farhadi also said electronic voting systems will be established for the upcoming parliamentary and assembly of experts’ elections in Tehran. The entire election procedure starting from registration of candidates has 25 stages, of which only voting is still manual, he noted. Electronic voting system requires allocation of $ 12.1 million (400 billion rials) in the provincial budget.
