Routine physical activity and sports are crucial to health promotion, and must be implemented on a regular basis, said Prof. Majid Samii, renowned Iranian neurosurgeon.
Samii, who is also the president of the International Neuroscience Institute (INI) in Hanover, Germany, stressed that physical activity is extremely important for overall health.
Unhealthy weight is the direct consequence of a sedentary lifestyle, he said, in a meeting with Dr. Mahmoud Goudarzi, minister of sports and youth affairs and commended the ministry’s efforts in sports promotion among all age groups.
Physical workout is not all about weight. It improves blood circulation, heart and brain performance.
Routine exercises are shown to decrease the risk of brain stroke and myocardial infarction (heart attack).
Additionally, Prof. Samii emphasized that routine physical activity enhances psychological well being and neural processes, as well as memory capacity, reports IRNA.
