Teachers Appreciation Week

On the first day of the national Teacher Appreciation Week (May 2-8), 13,493 of the best educators from schools across the country received accolades from the officials of the education ministry, said Khosro Nazari, head of the ministry’s human resource planning center.  The best teachers were selected based on their skills and other criteria, including teaching in disadvantaged areas, ILNA quoted him as saying. The week commemorates Iranian cleric and philosopher, Dr. Morteza Motahhari, who was martyred on May 1, 1979.
