Specific 16-digit codes have been assigned to 210 farmers across the country, said Mohsen Assar, an official at the Plant Protection Organization, adding that if adequate funds are allocated, the plan can be extended to all farmers. The code is a unique identity for farmers and their product information. It includes personal information, the exact location of their farms and agricultural products cultivated; other factors that may affect production have been identified and coded by the agriculture jihad and ministry of interior, reports Iranian Agriculture News Agency (IANA).
