Nearly 7% of all traffic offenses in the last year (ended March 20), were in particular related to running the red light, said Col. Alireza Jahangiri, Tehran traffic police chief. The fine for drivers jumping the red light is $30 in metropolises and $25 and $15 in other cities and rural areas, respectively, Mehr News Agency reported.
