Prominent Iranian journalist Dr. Hossein Ghandi, who passed away on Tuesday in Ghiasi Hospital, Tehran, after battling Alzheimer’s disease and brain stroke, was laid to rest on Saturday in the artists section of the Behest-e-Zahra Cemetery in Tehran. He was 64. Born in 1951 in Sabzevar, Khorasan Razavi Province, Ghandi was a professor of social communication sciences, in Allameh Tabatabaee University. He trained hundreds of journalists during his lifetime and worked at several national newspapers including Kayhan, Abrar, Akhbar, Entekhab and Jamejam, Mehr News Agency reported. He was known for his journalistic skills, in particular writing influential headlines. He has written several books, most of which are part of the university curriculum in teaching journalism.
