The 2nd International Conference on Human Security in West Asia (ICHSWA) was held at the University of Birjand, South Khorasan. It aimed at “providing a forum for comprehensive knowledge, depth and true perception of human security to social and political leaders,” among other issues.
Providing strategic approaches and areas for cooperation among West Asian nations in the field of human security with purpose of studying the impact of ‘soft security’ in the region; defining the general policies on issues inspired by political, social and cultural realities in Afghanistan, Iran, Pakistan and Turkmenistan; and reviewing the theoretical and practical approaches of human security and the concept, were other topics of debate, Mehr News Agency reported.
