Using buffalo meat imported from India for consumption at home or as minced meat is banned, said Abbas Abbasi, an official at the Iran Veterinary Organization (IVO). However, there is no ban on using domestically produced buff meat for home cooking due to its high quality, IRNA reported. Abbasi said Indian buffalo meat is used only for making processed meat such as sausages and bologna, adding that buff meat is widely consumed around the world.
