The number of marriages taking place after the age of 35 is on the rise. Head of the population information office at the Organization for Civil Registration, Ali Akbar Mahzoon said there are 3.9 million educated unmarried youth in the country, among whom 1. 9 million are men and 2. 1 million are women. Mahzoon said educated couples are also less likely to have more children, Iran newspaper reported. He said the rise in divorce and an increase in the marriage age are on agenda at the next meeting of the Supreme Cultural Council.
