Health Minister Seyed Hassan Ghazizadeh Hashemi paid a visit to Loghman Hakim Hospital in Tehran recently to see first-hand “the pressures on different sections of the hospital.”
Patients were mostly satisfied with the care and services received at the hospital, but at the same time a few raised complaints about the state of the hospital and some of the services in healthcare, IRNA reported.
After the visit, Hashemi issued instructions to improve the quality of care for hospitalized patients.
Since the launching of the Health Reform Plan in May 2014, the hospital has taken several measures for rehabilitation and modernization of its various wards as well as enhancing patient care.
The minister also visited neurosurgery, men’s surgical sections and children’s clinics at the hospital which have been developed after the implementation of health reforms.
He also evaluated departments under renovation, including delivery and emergency wards.
Loghman Hakim Educational Hospital, formerly named ‘Loghman-al Dolleh’, was constructed in 1971 in Kargar St., Tehran. Its specialty is in coping with patients suffering from chemical and drug intoxication. Its specialized services were increased following the quantitative and qualitative improvement in the hospital facilities. This educational hospital in now affiliated to Shahid Beheshti University of Medical Sciences. With 420 approved beds, out of which 362 are active, it is ranked first in all hospital evaluations.
