The death of nine newborns in Imam Khomeini Hospital in Tehran last month was not due to hospital infection. Dr. Sadaf Alipour, treatment deputy at the Tehran University of Medical Sciences, said the babies were born prematurely and therefore vulnerable, and hospital infection was ruled out, Iran newspaper reported. She said the final report would come from a special medical committee which “will hold accountable any person guilty of negligence.”
