Friday marked the birth anniversary of Fatima Zahra (AS) – ProphetMuhammad’s (PBUH) daughter- which is annually celebrated as Mother’s Day across the country. As with previous years, a week-long celebration with programs will be launched. Some of the special events include ‘women and human dignity’, ‘women as social capital’ and ‘women as stewards of environment and sustainable development’.Shahindokht Molaverdi, vice-president for women and family affairs told ILNA that ‘’the economic empowerment of women’’ would be the main objective of the government this year. She said this goal would be pursued through ‘’signing agreements, introducing bills and holding seminars’’.
