After several meetings between the Vice-Presidential office for women and family affairs and the officials at the ministry of interior ‘’arrangements have been made’’ for women to be permitted to go to sports stadiums to watch big matches. Vice-President for women’s affairs, Shahindokht Molaverdi quoted by ISNA said the decision comes after President Rouhani issued a decree to end gender discrimination in the sports arena. Molaverdi added that initially, women will gain entry only to volleyball matches. The measure will come into effect after the Supreme National Security Council approval.
