Teachers who have completed 25 years of service can apply for retirement, said Mohammad Bathaee, a deputy at the ministry of education. He added teachers who do not have enough classes to teach have priority for early retirement. Other teachers with priority are single mothers and those with terminal illnesses, Iran newspaper reported. So far, 4,000 teachers have benefited from early retirement options.
