Influenza vaccination can be effective at any time of the year, although late September is the best. Seventy to 85 percent of the people will be protected by the vaccine, says Dr. Mohammadreza Saeeni, head of Zanjan health center.
Children less than 36 months require two doses at intervals of 45 days.
The side effects of the vaccine can be allergy, fever, severe chills, swelling and redness of the injection site.
