Restricted traffic zones including restricted zones based on cars’ registration numbers for odd & even days are reportedly to be lifted in the capital. Valiollah Azarvash, Head of Tehran Vehicle Inspection Headquarters quoted by ISNA said the proposal is being mulled over and the decision regarding it will be announced by late October. According to the new plan, cars’ access to formerly restricted zones will be determined according to their levels of pollution, with clean vehicles gaining unlimited access to city streets.
